50 years of Preservation

February 2018 marks 50 years of active preservation by Silver Stream Railway. Ka935 was the first locomotive purchased back in 1968 with it passing into the possession of the Wellington Branch of the New Zealand Railway and Locomotive Society on the 2nd of February that year.

To mark this significant milestone we will be having Ka935 on display with access available to the cab. We will also have our latest steam locomotive purchased, Barclay 1749 on display with 935. Our regular train rides will be taking place in addition to the display, entry tickets allow you to see the locomotives on display and ride the train as many times as you like.
