Queens Birthday Sunday and Monday

L509

Looking for something different to do with the family this coming Queens Birthday Weekend? Silver Stream Railway will be open on both Sunday and Monday from 11am till 4pm.

On Sunday L509 built in 1877 previously owned by the Public Works Department and New Zealand Railways will be hauling two carriages and the guards van. On Monday our vintage diesel railcar R.M.30 will be operating. Trains depart from the station in Reynolds Bach Drive (just off Eastern Hutt Road) Upper Hutt on demand for a 3km return journey over part of the old Wellington to Upper Hutt railway line bypassed in 1954. Gates open at 11am both days with the last train leaving at approx. 3:45pm. Bring a picnic and enjoy as many rides as you like for the price of an admission ticket.
