2013 marks 150 years of Railways in New Zealand. Silver Stream Railway plans to mark this special occasion with our own event on Sunday 1st December 2013
As part of the KiwiRail 150th anniversary celebrations, Barclay 1749 (PWD531) paid a visit to Wellington railway station thanks to the generous support of Hammond Crane and Cartage
On Sunday the 28th of April two former Public Works Department locomotives #531 and 509 will be hauling seperate trains giving the chance to ride behind both locomotives.
This coming Easter Weekend will see our Diesel Electric Locomotive De505 running on Sunday the 31st of March. On Easter Monday our standard railcar Rm30 will be running.
To help celebrate national Children's Day on the 3rd of March we are offering FREE entry for all children under 15 when accompanied by a fare paying adult from 10am till 4pm.
