Help return our C class steam locomotive to its original condition!

Silver Stream Railway are currently restoring our C class saddle tank locomotive built by Dubs and Co of Glasgow in 1875.

After being a regular performer on the SSR from 1984 until 2008 the locomotive was withdrawn from service for a major overhaul.

This has seen the boiler undergo extensive repairs and complete tubing. The chassis has been completely striped and any worn parts replaced or repaired.

The overhaul is now in the reassembly stage and we need your help to purchase new boiler cladding and lagging. The original style funnel has now been cast - see below.

Please contribute to the Little C Restoration Fund to assist in returning this historic locomotive to steam in 2011/12.

Thanks to the excellent response we have now purchased the 2 cast parts for the funnel. Please keep the donations coming in as we still have to have the middle part fabricated and also purchase the boiler cladding and lagging. Thanks for your support
